A Home Built Around Every Child
Alexandra's Home provides residential care for up to three children and young people, aged 5–17, within a small, family-style home.
Our Care Model
We provide individualised 1:1 care, shaped around each child's experiences, strengths, needs and aspirations.
We support children who may have experienced trauma, neglect, loss, disrupted attachments or placement instability, including children with emotional and behavioural difficulties and, where we can safely meet their needs, ASC, ADHD and other additional needs.

All our staff are trained in trauma-informed approaches. We understand behaviour as communication and respond with curiosity and compassion rather than consequence alone.
Therapeutic Support
We work closely with therapists and clinical professionals to ensure every child has access to the therapeutic support they need, embedded within their daily life at home.
Education and Opportunity
We are passionate advocates for education. We work closely with schools and education providers to ensure every child is supported to attend, engage and achieve.
Childhood Experiences
We believe every child deserves to experience the joys of childhood — hobbies, trips, activities, friendships and fun. We actively create these opportunities for every child in our care.
Positive Futures
From the moment a child arrives, we are thinking about their future. We support children to develop the skills, confidence and resilience they need to thrive in adulthood. Following planned transitions, our team can provide outreach support after a move, with the option for continued therapeutic support to ensure stability beyond their time with us.
Our Home Environment
The physical environment of Alexandra's Home has been carefully designed to feel warm, homely and welcoming. We want children to feel proud of where they live and comfortable in their own space.
Each child has their own bedroom, personalised to reflect their tastes and interests. Shared spaces are comfortable, well-equipped and designed to encourage relaxation, creativity and connection.
We are located in a safe, accessible community with good transport links, nearby schools, green spaces and local amenities — everything a child needs to feel part of a wider community.

Our staff team is carefully recruited for their values, warmth and commitment to children. Every member of our team holds or is working towards relevant qualifications, and all staff receive regular supervision, reflective practice and ongoing training.

Referrals and Admissions
We welcome referrals from local authorities, independent reviewing officers and social workers across England. Our admissions process is thorough and child-centred — we take time to understand each child before they arrive, so we can prepare the home and our team to give them the best possible welcome.

Contact us by phone or email to discuss a potential referral. We will respond promptly and provide an honest assessment of whether Alexandra's Home is the right match.
Information Sharing
We will request relevant documentation to understand the child's history, needs and current circumstances. All information is handled with the utmost confidentiality.
Matching and Planning
If we believe we can meet the child's needs, we will work with the placing authority to plan a careful, child-centred transition — including pre-placement visits where appropriate.
Placement and Review
Once a child is placed, we work closely with the placing authority, IRO and wider professional network to review progress and ensure the placement continues to meet the child's needs.
We are committed to honest, transparent communication throughout the referral and admissions process. If we do not feel we are the right home for a child, we will say so — and do our best to help identify a more suitable option.
