Therapeutic Support
Supporting Healing, Growth & Emotional Wellbeing
At Alexandra's Home, therapeutic support is woven into everyday care. Our approach is trauma-informed, attachment-aware and relationship-based, helping children feel Safe, Seen, Soothed and Secure.
Our Therapeutic Support
Psychological Consultation
Regular input from our psychology service, supporting formulation, care planning, reflective practice and the team's understanding of each child.
Direct Therapy
Children can access direct therapeutic support tailored to their individual needs, including specialist interventions where appropriate.
Psychological Assessment
Where required, specialist assessment can help us better understand a child's emotional, psychological and developmental needs and inform their support.
Therapeutically Informed Everyday Care
Therapeutic thinking doesn't stop when a therapy session ends. Our team uses trauma-informed, attachment-aware and PACE-informed practice to support children throughout everyday life.
Continuity of Therapeutic Support
Where commissioned, therapeutic support can continue following a child's transition into foster care, family reunification or another long-term placement, helping provide continuity and stability.
Support is tailored to each child's individual needs, with access to psychological expertise and direct therapeutic intervention where required.
Our Four Pillars of Safety
Everything we do is guided by the four pillars that help children feel truly safe:
Safe
Physically and emotionally protected
Seen
Understood, valued and heard
Soothed
Supported through distress and difficulty
Secure
Able to form trusting, lasting relationships
